All of us here at The Fillmore Silver Spring — the DMV’s ONLY go-to stage for the real ones, where legends meet loyal fans and the energy never dies — are beyond hyped to welcome two of New York’s most iconic names: Raekwon of the Wu-Tang Clan and Havoc of Mobb Deep, as they bring their 30th Anniversary Tour to town on Sunday, December 8th. That’s right — thirty years since Only Built 4 Cuban Linx... and The Infamous first shook the streets and shifted the sound of hip-hop forever, these two kings are linking up to celebrate the albums that raised a whole generation. And Silver Spring gets to be right in the middle of it all. Come relive it all again and experience the hype that was NYC back in the 90s, for those who don’t know the know.
But this show ain’t just a trip down memory lane — nah, this is a celebration of culture, craft, and pure grit. It’s about honoring the DNA of New York hip-hop — that razor-sharp storytelling, that concrete jungle production, that unfiltered realness that defined an era. Both Raekwon and Havoc have carried that spirit for decades, and now they’re stepping on stage together to remind everybody that the East Coast never lost its crown. Raekwon the Chef came up through Staten Island’s Wu-Tang Clan, one of the most influential collectives in music history. His solo debut Only Built 4 Cuban Linx... dropped in ’95 and flipped the rap world on its head. I’m talking mafioso rap, vivid narratives, cinematic beats — it was hip-hop’s version of a mob movie, and it set a gold standard for lyrical storytelling across the country. Havoc, hailing straight outta Queensbridge, built his own empire as half of Mobb Deep. When The Infamoushit that same year, it was cold, dark, and poetic — pure New York. Tracks like “Shook Ones, Pt. II” and “Survival of the Fittest” became anthems that still echo through the streets nearly three decades later.
Now, in 2025, they’re joining forces to bring both worlds together — Wu meets QB, a fusion of raw beats, timeless bars, and street wisdom that’ll hit your chest like it’s ’95 all over again. Expect all the classics, surprise guests, and that unmistakable energy that only hip-hop vets of this caliber can deliver.
So gather the crew, pull out the Wallabees, and meet us at The Fillmore Silver Spring on December 8th. Raekwon. Mobb Deep. Thirty years deep — and still the realest to ever do it. See ya real soon, right here for the madness.
