The Fillmore Silver Spring
Irish singer-songwriter Eden is headed out on yet another world tour this year in support of his newest record. The record, Dark, is Eden’s fourth full-length album, and its subsequent tour is his seventh in his career thus far. Eden, also known as Johnathon Ng, is half Irish and half Hong Konger, but he personally believes the internet to be the biggest cultural influence in his music. Growing up as a millennial in Dublin, Ireland, Ng spent much of his time as a child listening to and discussing music via the internet. Now, his music reflects both his classical music training and the skills he taught himself by being online, creating a sound that is entirely unique to him. Having been classically trained on the violin from a young age, Eden found that teaching himself guitar, piano, and drums was a much simpler task. Once he had a basic understanding of musicality, instrumentation, and the era’s recording technology, he got to work. Eden began writing and recording his own music at the ripe age of 17. Since then, he has barely stopped to take a breath.
In his career spanning 13 years so far, Jonathan Ng has written and recorded hundreds of songs under various names including The Eden Project and his current moniker, Eden. Among those songs are his four studio albums and nine extended plays released under the name Eden, including his latest full length album, Dark. Get a chance to hear some of his signature stuff when the man himself heads across the pond to perform at The Fillmore in Maryland’s own Silver Spring. Eden is soaring to new heights this year with the release of his newest album, Dark. After the success of his second extended play, I Think You Think Too Much Of Me, it seemed like the singer-songwriter had reached his peak. But that same EP came out in 2016, and it was only two short years later that Eden released Vertigo, his debut studio album, solidifying his place in the indie music world beyond just his home country of Ireland.
Since then, Eden has come out with four albums and toured the world eight times on various tours. His fourth album, Dark, just dropped on August 22nd 2025, and will be supported by the Dark World Tour, which will see the artist travelling far and wide throughout 2025 and 2026.
