Snail Mail & Soccer Mommy at Fillmore Silver Spring

Summer is coming to an end and we can't wait to celebrate the return to school of all our young friends or the end of summer for the rest of us with a night of amazing indie rock at The Fillmore Silver Spring! On Thursday, October 1st, 2016 we will be hosting not one but TWO of the greatest up and coming indie rockers on the scene today: Snail Mail and Soccer Mommy! Both of these singer songwriters will bring so much energy to the stage that you will be left wanting more long after the show is over. The crowds will be just as into their performance as they are and you will have a great time as well. Snail Mail

Lindsey Jordan is known for her work as the solo artist Snail Mail. Her music is mostly indie rock, that is very emotional and also entertaining to listen to. The fans can be sure that they will get to hear songs like "Pristine", "Blues 2", "Heat Wave", "Thom's Birthday" and "Valentine" in the highest sound quality. After the release of her album "Valentine" in 2021, the critics have been extremely positive. The album features songs like "Ben Franklin" and "Madonna". In 2018 Jordan released her debut album "Lush". It received critical acclaim from publications like Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, NPR. Even NPR described her as one of the best new artists and published her in their series "NewRoots". As a teenager Jordan started to write songs and even recorded her first EP while she was in high school.

Soccer Mommy

Soccer Mommy is the alias of Sophie Allison, whose songwriting style encompasses a mix of indie rock and dream pop, with often personal and relatable lyrics. Allison performs songs such as "Your Dog," "Cool," and "Circle the Drain" as part of her live performances. Her most recent album, "occassionally, Forever," released in 2022, has taken a slightly darker tone than some of her past work, including 2020's "Color Theory" and 2018's "Clean." The singer-songwriter released her first album of original songs, when she was in college, on Bandcamp under the Soccer Mommy moniker. Allison's work has been featured in publications such as Rolling Stone and Pitchfork and has appeared on year-end lists for albums such as 2018's "Clean" and 2020's "Color Theory."

The Fillmore Silver Spring Information

The Fillmore Silver Spring is located in the heart of the City of Silver Spring, Maryland and hosts numerous concerts of various genres throughout the year. The General Admission Standing Room / Raised Platform show at The Fillmore has a capacity of approximately 2,000 including the raised balcony. The Fillmore is well known throughout the industry for its world class surround sound in every seat in the house. With several vantage points to choose from, The Fillmore is an ideal venue for fans of live music of music.
